Sport has the power to unite, and overcome barriers… In Rome, inmates and prison officers became athletes for the day, and took part in a sort of mini prison olympics. Organised by the John Paul II foundation for sport, this is the third edition of the “Games of Hope”, over a year after it was held in the men’s wing of the prison in 2025. Story by Emily Boyle.
