I recently had the chance to build the new 245-piece, 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car from LEGO as part of their Speed Champions range.

The build is targeted at those aged 9 and above and at 42, I guess I qualify, as a long-term F1 fan, I definitely qualify as the target audience here.

In a 3-part timelapsed series, I capture the process of building the LEGO Speed Champions 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car (76919). This is certainly a fun build to do and one I’d recommend to anyone who likes the design and the challenge.

The model features several iconic design details from the real-life racing car that proudly celebrated the 60th anniversary of McLaren Racing and competed in the 2023 Formula One World Championship. The McLaren vehicle model includes many realistic features: the black-and-papaya livery, the team-sponsor logos, the wheels with Pirelli print and the papaya safety halo. The buildable car kit also comes with a driver minifigure for kids to place behind the wheel for exciting play races.

Each car can be created with the LEGO Builder app, which guides you and your child on an easy and intuitive building adventure.
