An explosion near a police vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan’s district Tank killed five policemen and injured 20 other people on Friday.
The explosion took place in Tank base where a vehicle was carrying policemen to duty. A heavy contingent of police arrived on the scene after the blast was reported. As per initial reports, firings were also exchanged out after the explosion, and the explosives were fixed on a motorcycle.
Police said a total of 21 people were injured in the blast as well. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Later, an IED bomb also exploded and targeted a police and army convoy in DI Khan’s tehsil Takwara that killed one security official.
