Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) task force team caught 10 power pilferers during an ongoing crackdown launched against electricity pilferage, here on Saturday.
According to official sources, the task force team, raided various areas including Takhtat Hazara,Bucha Kalan,Kot Imrana Jutt colony, caught 10 accused identified as Saleem,Naveed,Adnan,Zahid,Imran,Shafique,Akhtar,Javed Iqbal,Mumtaz and Asad involved in electricity theft from main lines and meter tampering. Police registered cases against pilferers.
On the other hand, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has detected a total of 261 connections from where the customers were pilfering electricity in all its circles of five districts (Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara) on the 57th day of grand anti-power theft campaign.
The LESCO spokesman told media here Saturday that the company has also submitted FIR applications against 260 electricity thieves, out of which 173 FIRs have been registered in respective police stations, while 17 accused have been arrested
