The press release further added that upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, the president and first lady were accorded a 21-gun salute.
"The president will be accorded an official welcome tomorrow at Prime Minister House."

A delegation from the Maldives arrived earlier today led by Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam and comprised cabinet ministers and senior officials, according to a statement from the Foreign Office (FO).
The FO previously said that President Muizzu would meet President Asif Ali Zardari, who would also host a state banquet in his honour, further adding that the visiting dignitary would also hold restricted and delegation-level talks with PM Shehbaz.
"The two leaders will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and explore avenues for further strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, health, education, tourism, agriculture, defence, maritime security, climate change and people-to-people exchanges," the statement noted.
The statement added that the state visit was the first by a president of the Maldives to Pakistan in 11 years and assumed special significance as the two countries commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966.
The FO further added that Pakistan and Maldives enjoyed warm and fraternal relations rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, longstanding goodwill and close cooperation at regional and international forums.
"The forthcoming visit reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthening their bilateral partnership and opening new avenues of mutually beneficial cooperation," the statement concluded.
