Security forces kill 10 Indian-sponsored terrorists in Gwadar operations: ISPR

admin4 min read

Security forces killed 10 terrorists, including a woman, during operations in Gwadar after Indian-sponsored Fitna al Hindustan terrorists attempted attacks near the Gabd border crossing and in Gwadar city, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the attacks took place on Thursday, adding that one civilian was killed and several vehicles were damaged during the incidents. It said the operations concluded without any casualties among security personnel and that order had been restored.

“Security Forces foiled the terrorists' designs and their bid to undermine the writ of the state and spread their misconstrued agenda,” the statement said.

The ISPR added that by targeting these locations, terrorists "sought to harm the very people they claim to represent and wanted to obstruct the development and prosperity of Balochistan."

The statement also condemned the involvement of a Baloch woman in the attack, saying "the coercion of a Baloch woman into this attack is a crime not only against the state but against the hurmat of Baloch women."

It further slammed the terrorists for exploiting women for propaganda, saying the tactic was intended to inflame public sentiment and give a false sense of legitimacy to their campaign.

“Such tactics are contrary to Baloch and Islamic traditions, which hold women in the highest honour,” the statement said, adding that the people of Balochistan had consistently rejected those who shed blood in their name.

The military’s media wing said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue.

“Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain resolute in eliminating foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it said.

On Thursday, state-owned Radio Pakistan reported that security forces had killed three terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan while foiling an attempt to attack an unoccupied construction company camp in Gwadar. Security sources said the forces had also surrounded other suspects.

In a separate operation, security forces were targeting terrorists hiding in a hotel near the Gwadar Highway. The Gwadar general officer commanding was personally leading the operation, according to the report.

Balochistan sees rise in terrorism

Terrorism is a growing problem for Pakistan, with the number of attacks rising every year since 2022, according to Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED), a global monitoring organisation. Data from ACLED shows attacks in Pakistan rose nearly fourfold to 2,425 in 2025 from 658 in 2022, and over the same period, TTP attacks increased more than sevenfold to 838 from 118.

Although K-P has borne the brunt of terrorism, Balochistan has also remained a major target of Indian proxies, which often target civilians and military installations in the province.

Over the past few years, Balochistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist attacks, with militants frequently targeting convoys, abducting security personnel and civilians, and attacking security and civilian installations.

In a similar incident last week, 20 trainee police personnel were abducted by unidentified armed men while travelling between Kalat and Mastung in Balochistan.

The abducted personnel belonged to the districts of Kharan, Nushki, Chagai and Washuk in Rakhshan Division. They included eight personnel from Kharan, five from Nushki, four from Chagai and three from Washuk.

The forces continued operations across the provinces against what the state describes as Indian-sponsored terrorists and their proxies. Still, despite these efforts, the groups have continued to target civilian and defence installations.

In one such attack in July this year, at least 30 people, including 27 police personnel, were martyred when terrorists identified by the state as the Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan ambushed police personnel deployed in the Kach Mangi Phase III area of Ziarat, triggering hours-long gun battles. The attackers also abducted several civilians and police personnel after the assault.

In the aftermath of the attack, the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and Balochistan Police launched a joint operation, which remains underway, with forces intensifying action against terrorists across the province.
