A series of top Republicans heading to Iowa and New Hampshire – key states in the presidential primary – have raised the possibility of a contentious 2028 field for the GOP nomination, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
Sen. Ted Cruz, a onetime 2016 primary opponent of Trump’s, and John Kennedy, a Senator from Louisiana, have both visited Iowa in recent weeks. Senator Rick Scott of Florida headlined a party event in New Hampshire.
